Catch Report 19.08.24

6 hour trip today

Quite a fresh westerly wind today and the tides building all this week.

We ran onto our rough ground which is teaming with mackerel at the minute.

After a few drift we lost a good Pollock on the surface caught on a Skylark red/ yellow swamari shad estimated around 8 to 10lb as it was attempted to lift it with the line.

Shortly after this Pollock was caught on a pink and ice swamari shad weighing 6lb 7oz

Then the mackerel made another appearance and we just couldn't get through them to get more of the Pollock as the tide slackened we tried many marks but they all sealed to be teaming with large mackerel which were just throwing themselves on the hooks.

As the first of the flood came through we managed to get quite a few Ballen wrasse and some codling. And a few more smaller Pollock.

Overall the customer took a very good amount of fish back with them
